She Rolled Over!

is Baby Boo rolled over! I had her on the floor next to me getting some much needed tummy time -- I'm afraid to put her on the floor when her sister is awake because I don't want her to get stepped on. Miss Priss isn't always good about watching what she's about to step on.

I looked over just in time to see her flop over onto her back. She looked shocked and a little scared about what she had just done. Fortunately she didn't hit the leg of the chair I'm sitting in (although she came close). I'm so excited! My baby is getting so big.

Okay, it's been a week....

time to check the scale. Be right back.

Starting weight: 201
Last Week's weight: 183.6
This week's weight: 180.0

Woohoo! That's over 3 lbs lost even with the ice cream I can't seem to stop eating. I've been working on snacking less. When I sit and watch TV, instead of eating (because I need someting to do with my hands), I get out Miss Priss's coloring books and color. Sometimes she colors with me, too.

This week, I'm going to work on exercise. I've got a couple of workouts recorded, so I might as well put them to use. And we also have a Total Gym which would help me get my abs back in shape. I'd also like to get my arms where they looked toned rather than puffy, you know?

It's been a long week. Last Friday, my dad asked if I wanted to go with him to visit my grandparents. So, the girls and I went.

Now our dryer is acting up -- as in not drying the clothes. It did this right before we left, and we reset the breaker, and it started working again. Now, it's not heating, and it keeps going. The little dial doesn't turn, so it doesn't shut off. Lovely. Checking the owner's manual (yes, I did actually save it), it implies that we might have blown a fuse in the dryer itself. I didn't even know that dryers had fuses.

Another funny from the toddler:
When Baby Boo was upset, and I was trying to calm her down, Miss Priss asked me why she wasn't settling down. I told Miss Priss, "I'm told her to calm down, but she's not listening to me."
"Baby Boo needs to go to timeout then."

The things children say....

"Mommy."
"What?"
"I farted in my panties."

"Baby Boo hit my knee with her head."

"Mama."
"What?"
"I want a sucker."
"Maybe after dinner, baby girl."
"But I need it!"

"My tummy's sad. I need a Rolaid."

"Give Baby Boo her medicine and put her down." (medicine referring to gas drops) -- the jealous girl comes out sometimes

Been a while...

so what do I have to report.....

Visited the in-laws. Always fun for me (and a nice break). My sister-in-law (who is 16) went on a date (I think it was her first "real" date). It made me think back to my first date.....

I was a senior in high school (ahem, yes, a "late bloomer" shall we say?). I had been flirting with this guy, Jason, for a while. He finally asked me out to go see Titanic. Awww...how romantic. And then, in the parking lot of the theater, I threw up. Oh, yes. Got sick. Still makes me cringe to think about it. And giggle a little too. It was so traumatic--I still can't watch Titanic or hear that Celine Dion song without feeling a little nauseaous. LOL

And I have to do something to lose this weight. I have no motivation. Well, not true. I have no willpower. I liked Heather's idea of listing her progress on her blog. Sorry, Heather, I'm going to steal it. It might give me the willpower I need -- could eat the ice cream, but do I really want to put a weight gain on my blog? We'll see if it works.

So, here goes. I'm going to go check the scale. Be right back.
Highest weight (because I need to feel like I've made some progress) -- my last appointment before I had Baby Boo -- 201
Current weight -- 183.6
Goal weight -- well, that's a good question. It's been a few years since I was anywhere in the neighborhood of my goal weight, so I'm going to make 140 the goal for now. I'm 5'9" with a medium frame, so that was what looked pretty good on me. After having two children, my hips may be a little wider and all, so I may stop at 145. I'll shoot for when I feel right. For now, the goal is 140 -- it's good to have a goal.

She did it!

She did it, she did it, yay! (Sung with the theme music to Dora).

On Monday, we went to Target who had big girl panties on sale and bought a bunch of them. Therefore, the past two days, Miss Priss has been only in panties (except during naptime -- oh, yeah, she's taking a nap again, kind of). Anyway, I figured I'll have to give it a fair shot this time. So, Tuesday, after 3 accidents, she went to take a nap.* She woke up dry. I told her to go sit on the potty. She didn't want to, but when Daddy suggested it (not ordered or anything, merely suggested), she went, sat down and peed. So exciting. And she was rewarded with chapstick.

Yesterday, as soon as she was up, I put her in panties. She kept telling me that she needed a diaper because she needed to poop. Evil b**** that I am, I told her too bad. She had to go in the potty because I didn't want her to poop on the floor or in her panties. After sitting down and watching Dora for a while, she came to me and said, "I pooped, Mommy."
"Where?" (It's only a natural response to want to find the mess and clean it up.)
"In the potty."
Against all "expert" advice, I was very skeptical. But, sure enough, she pooped in the potty. I couldn't believe it! That was the first time ever. So, even though I'm sure we'll have multiple accidents today, I know she can do it and that she's ready. She's starting to relax about it a little more, and, therefore, so am I. I think this might be the start we needed.

Oh, and I haven't had any trouble reading the word verifications for Blogger. Maybe I just needed to vent and suddenly I can read them better.

*Naptime is still hit or miss, but that's an inconsistancy on my part. Bad mommy. I'm trying to at least create a quiet time. She needs it, I need it.

Am I the only one....

who has trouble with Blogger's word verification thing? I swear I have to enter the letters I see about 5 times to post a comment. Usually with the ones that look like w. It's almost always 2 v's instead. Oh, well.

Can you tell I don't have much to say today?

Driving....

Apparently, I drive too fast. At least according to Miss Priss. Her latest thing is to tell me that I'm driving too fast every time we go anywhere. And it's not just me -- her daddy drives too fast as well. I was driving down our dirt road to our house at about 20-25 mph, and she said I was going too fast. I think she can now see out the window better and can get a better judge on speed, so she feels like she's going really fast. Either that or she has the touch of motion sickness that I have. I hope not. Some car trips make me nauseous, but mostly, I get a headache if I'm in the car for more than a couple of hours. Very annoying. Even if I'm driving although it's not as bad then.

I've been working on my photo albums. Once we got the digital camera, we started saving them to the computer, but I really like to have the albums to flip through. I kept planning on getting them printed out eventually, and then all of a sudden I had a year's worth of pictures saved up. So, I went through and chose the best ones to print off an put them on a CD and took it to Walmart. I assumed about 100 pictures or so. When I went to the little machine (the done in an hour machine), I plugged in the CD and it found all 234 pictures. Only off by a little. Of course, those were the best of what I had. So, now I'm working on getting them into photo albums. I think Hubby thinks I'm crazy, but I just love to be able to go through and see them in an album. I'm not good a scrapbooking, but I can put a few pictures in an album and arrange them on the pages. I'm only about halfway through the stack.

Computer Games

We bought Miss Priss a computer game, Dora's Animal Adventures. It's for 3 and up, but she's 2 1/2, so we figured she'd grow into it. She loves it. She has now deemed the computer her computer, and demands to play her game. She can't move the mouse, but she loves to click when I tell her to. She watches for the stars and likes to feed the animals. It's so cute. It also gives me some time one-on-one with her. We play every night after dinner. I hand Baby Boo off to Hubby, and Miss Priss and I play for about half an hour before bed. Suprisingly, when I tell her that it's the last game, she doesn't throw a fit or anything, just finishes the game and gets ready for bed.

Thanks to tax credit #2 (Baby Boo), we got a nice tax return this year and decided to get new recliners with it. Now, I am anxiously awaiting their arrival which is supposed ot be at the end of this month. Ha. I'll believe it when I see it. However, we got the very reduced price delivery fee simply by exchanging a look when we asked how much it would cost to deliver. The salesman said it would be $75, so Hubby and I just looked at each other (even though we already agreed that we'd pay any delivery fee under $100), and the salesman said, "Well, I can make it a local fee of $35." Okey-dokey.

Well, Baby Boo's up and hungry, gotta go. :)

Actual Conversation.....

in our car today driving home from the store.

Hubby: Get out of the way, you stupid cow! (Stupid cow was in reference to, ahem, another driver -- cow's better than what he used to call people).
Miss Priss: Where the cow, Daddy?
Hubby: Nowhere, sweetie, Daddy was just yelling at another driver.

I was cracking up at the confused look on her face. I know she was picturing a cow driving the car.

Busy, busy....

I've been busy at work and tired at home. Baby Boo has done very well with her shots. No fever and no fussiness. Her gas even seems to be getting better. I refuse to equate that with the fact that I haven't been having as much ice cream. They have nothing to do with each other. In fact, just to prove it, I think I will go home and have ice cream tonight. Mmmmmmmmm......ice cream..........., but I digress.

I have nothing exciting to say. I didn't give Baby Boo's measurements the other day. :) She is now 11lbs and 3oz (or was on Tuesday) and 23 inches long. Growing like a little weed.
